CalFLEXI Essential offers childcare for organizations to help essential workers who need childcare at home while they are at work. We negotiate fixed hourly rates with employers. Those rates are then available to the family of any authorized employee.

CalFLEXI is a collaboration between public agencies and Skills4Care, the non-profit arm of Cambrian Homecare. Cambrian is one of the region's biggest homecare providers for seniors and families.

Using the market

Once a family has registered, any of their authorized members can log-in to this portal to book childcare. They enter the type of care needed and confirm the address.

We will show you how many eligible child care providers are currently available to come to that address each hour. Click and drag to choose the hours you need.

We then show the actual providers (workers) available for those hours. Any providers you have used for prior bookings can be prioritized. Or the ones your children most liked on previous bookings will come to the top. Click on any photo for more details of the person and their vetting.

You then re-enter your password to confirm. The system handles contacting the child care provider and confirmation.
